Social Media and Content Manager Intern

Position Summary:

As the Social Media and Content Manager Intern for Open Mind School, you will drive the day-to-day operational work of social media marketing and drive the overall strategy of the program.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy, community-outreach efforts, promotions, program updates etc.
  2. Manage presence in social networking sites including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, instagram and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed
  3. Create an effective marketing strategy that includes collaborating with local agencies, using social media and correspondence to highlight a specific program
  4. Optimize social media channels to increase follower base, engagement and traffic to our blog and website
  5. Manage day-to-day publishing, uploading and monitoring on social media channels
  6. Send birthday cards to students and staff within Open Mind School Programs
  7. Send Monthly newsletters
  8. Monitor digital reputation

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, WordPress)
  2. A minimum of being enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program
  3. Majoring in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Psychology, or a related field
  4. Experience in marketing is a plus
  5. Effective interpersonal, listening, writing, and presentation skills
  6. Ability to independently initiate projects and activities
  7. Able to work 5-10 hours per week
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  9. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication
  11. Attentive to details
  12. Dedication, motivation, and commitment to the job at hand
  13. Minimum 1 year commitment
